Dear John: Synopsis
Directed by Lasse Hallström and based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, DEAR JOHN tells the story of John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by John’s increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas--correspondence that eventually triggers fateful consequences.

this movie pissed me off. it's exactly the stereotype that people think girlfriends of soldiers do. i was really disappointed by this movie. the only thing i did like was the link between the opening scene with the coin and the end scene. i was not expecting that

I just came back from seeing this and I must admit I was disappointed. I was excited about seeing the movie because "The Notebook" is one of my favorite movies and I thought Nicholas Spark would do it again. But, this movie lacks the passion between the two main characters and the ending is very disappointing.
