Well, guys, I just watched Kevin Costner's 'Dances with Wolves' for the first time, but it was the Director's Cut which was 10 minutes before 4 hours. Now, many of you know that 'Avatar' is my favorite movie, still stands, but this broke the gates, becoming one of my favorite movies. So that tells that this was a fantastic film and it did made me more angry than the rock freaks on 'Avatar'. Now, remember folks: 'Avatar' is not copying the dozens of films that had the same storyline in the past, it was inspired by sci-fi books that Cameron read as a kid. Well, don't get on any of them, they just want to join the party. I'm not sure, but I think 'The Emerald Forest' is the first of it's kind. So we'll just say it's a genre. Back to 'Dances with Wolves', this is actually my first inspiring movie. At the second-half portion of the film, it shows how much the Union Army are such.... see now, don't you wish cursing didn't exist? Those freaks caused more depression than the fall of the home tree. 'Dances with Wolves' is the real heartbreaking movie and it is Kevin Costner's best film (director).

Having been sent to a remote outpost in the wilderness of the Dakota territory during the American Civil War, Lieutenant John Dunbar encounters, and is eventually accepted into, the local Sioux tribe. He is known as "Dances with Wolves" to them and as time passes he becomes enamoured by the beautiful "Stands With a Fist". Not soon after, the frontier becomes the frontier no more, and as the army advances on the plains, John must make a decision that will not only affect him, but also the lives of the natives he now calls his people.

The film is based off of the 1988 novel of the same name, written by Michael Blake. This is a very entertaining story. It's long, it's well written, it's realistic. And I love it when a film is like that. The true key for a film to become my favorite movie is those three topics which 'Avatar' achieved. It was long, well written, and realistic. And I don't just mean realistic as in the visual effects, but mostly the acting and the events that can fit to reality. 'Dances with Wolves' terrorized those topics and became one of my favorites. To help the fantastic story, John Barry was there to match the mood of every sequence. I loved the theme music to the wolf who Dunbar names 'Two Socks'. That is one of the most moving musical pieces I've ever heard, it always puts a smile on my face. We also have the music playing on the buffalo hunting scene, which sounded like it doesn't belong in that year. And we have the music behind the fire dance scene which was epic and catchy. John Barry was fantastic for the movie, absolutely the perfect fit.

The great performances goes to everybody. But I think Graham Greene did the best. I mean it was one of those performances that made forge that I was watching a movie. He was truly an outstanding Indian. Kevin Costner and Mary McDonnell were awesome too like how everybody else was. When I mean everybody, I mean everybody. Why didn't Two Socks get nominated for Best Supporting Actor? Anyway, guys, Let's not forget the great choreography. The was a number of fantastic dancing sequences, especially the one with only Dunbar which was filmed in the perfect way as I would want it to be filmed. Kevin Costner totally deserved the Academy Award for Best Director, because his directing and filming were amazing and perfect. Oh, and please answer me this in the comment section: Does the film show English subtitles, I had to go read what was going on in those meetings after I watched the movie.

Guys, it's pretty hard for me to review a movie that is one of my favorites. Because they all have me at the same quote: "speechless". To the people who haven't seen it, 'Dances with Wolves' is a marvelous and fantastic movie. It's absolutely the best movie about Indians. You like westerns, drama, Indians, wolves, and romance? 'Dances with Wolves' is the perfect film for you. I'm the MovieWiz, thanks for reading.

@corey Oh and dude, I really hated what happened to Two Socks. I love wolves as much as dragons. After all of the friendly stuff that happened, does he have to go!

@corey One of these days ill get around to doing a series, but unfortunately it cant be my top 10 since my first two reviews (which were 3 sentences each i might add) eliminated the possibility of me ever reviewing them again :(

Great one sir. My second favorite movie of all time, right behind Fight Club. I plan on reviewing my top ten of all time as a series of reviews sometime this summer. I'm glad to see you reviewing it. :)
