This was my introduction to Jim Jarmusch and what a great cross-section of his shtick to start with. His great taste in music and musicians, actors, and humor. After watching a few times and seeing the actors' other work you really see how each bit was tailor made for each one of them. There are some pretentious bits here and there, I still love Renee. Not many women look good smoking while reading a gun magazine. Goes great with Night On Earth. I love this movie and I don't even drink coffee or smoke. In "Cousins" I could only tell what was going on from the odd camera angles. Cate fooled me, and I liked it. Tom Waits and Iggy Pop... amazing.

"Coffee's good, though, at IHOP."

"Oh, you like the coffee down there at IHOP?"

*awkward pause*

"I drink the coffee at IHOP, I like the coffee. You don't like it?"

"Yeah, yeah, I... like the IHOP coffee."

"Classy brew. Classy brew"

"Yeah, good coffee ...good coffee at the IHOP."

I love it.
