Cloverfield: Review By Black Frank

This film will be remembered for the effective viral campaign more than the actual movie and may be remembered for being one of the first of a rush of u tube/doc*mentery style films (diary of the dead etc) more than the actual quality of the film. The performances were adequate but forgetable and the way the movie taps into the post 911 fear is a clever effect although again forgetable. Check the hindsight reviews in a few years time and see how fondly this movie is spoke of then because it will be talked about in the same breath as Blair witch project where we miss the whispered hype more than the end project. I kinda wish (like a certain witch) we never actually saw the monster in the film.

Which sums things up nicely I think. Oh no Jaws the shark looks rubber! Get it?
