The two other people must i mean MUST work for JJ Abrams!!!!! I can't believe they actually like this movie! what the f*ck is wrong with you people? This movie was f*cking horrible! The monster looked f*ckin retarded and it seriously looked like smeagol/gollum from lord of the ring just magnified 100X and crawling all over new york city. The characters where f*ckin stupid not the actors though. its not their fault they are in this horrible movie. There are alot of things f*cked up about the movie...1: the obvious shaky nauseating camera work! 2: the monster wasn't even that big BUT! in the scene where the monster destroys the first building he is in the middle of the city and then all of a sudden the head of the statue of liberty falls into the streets...i mean how the f*ck did it do that? its not big enough to reach the statue of liberty from where it was. f*ckin retarded! 3: if you're in that scenario running for your life, you're not going to stop and pick up a camera and film the whole damn thing and keep filming even when all your friends are dieing! And WOW what an amazing camera that survives every blow and doesnt even crack a lense. and f*ck amazing battery life. that piece of sh*t lasted for hours and hours until the morning. sh*t i want that camera! 4: did anyone notice that the monster had it in for the main characters? seriously it was following them all over the city. that was f*ckin stupid. 5: when they got into the helicopter and they were flying over the monster, they were sooooo f*ckin high above that sh*t and all of a sudden it reached them from the ground...what the f*ck is that? THE MONSTER WAS NOT BIG ENOUGH TO DO THAT YOU F*CK FACES!!! think about it! and some of the promoting lines for this movie is "SOMETHING HAS FOUND US" found us? what the f*ck ? where did it come from to have found us? stupid f*ckin slogan. and this is for "Fuzion" you're a f*ckin idiot. how is the person who wrote this review suppose to know that cloverfield is the name of the street that their production company is on? he isnt a stalker and low life like you f*ckin loser!!! get a life you f*ckin idiot! and please go ahead and debunk all my question about the movie. then i will be certain that you are jj abrams backing up your own pathetic movie you f*ckin douche bag!!!!! I support you RON23 and so does millions and millions of other people out there that wasted their time watches this f*ckin stupid movie! f*ck you jj abrams!

lol battery life only had to last 80 minutes for the duration of the movie seeing as the movie was basically just the cameras findings; lets add this together, 80 minute movie = 80 minutes of camera time.
I will agree with you however on the monster jumping up to BITE(I believe, it's been awhile since i've seen this) the helicopter, rather retarded
And to kyle hannah, their is no way an explosion would sever the head of the statue of liberty and have it hurled into the middle of the city.. the oil tanker explosion is what caused the tremor that they all felt at the party, not the head throw which occured a good 15 minutes later after they were on the roof. So the monster had to have thrown it.

Eeeh what the hell? This is the thing with cloverfield, either it gets a 100% great review or a 100% trash review.
Ok so you didn`t liked the movie, but going after people on this site, it has nothing to do with the movie.
And secondly the monster wasn`t following them, they were in the centre of the attack, cause they were running towards the action...
anyway this movie was brilliant and It does not deserve a 0!
And secondly its a MOVIE! if you havn`t figuerd it out yet!
You are complaining about the sizes of the monster and how it could do this and that and how long the camera worked and etc.
Seriusly it`s a movie...

Okay, i just read the theory about the two monsters. It's very possible. I'm gonna go back and look at the subway scene. But this movie still does not deserve 0 friggin stars.

Yeah 2 monsters does make more sense. It answers alot of my questions. That's true the monster that ate Hud i think didn't even have a tail at all. Or if it did then it just wasn't long enough to have destroyed the bridge.

never really thought of two monsters. I love the idea that the monster is just a baby, but i think if there were two of them, there would have at least been the slightest hint by either Abrams or Reeves. If I go see it again, I'll let you know what I think.

After doing some research I have now come to the conclusion that there are 2 monsters in the movie. I seriously think there are 2 monsters. Here are my reasons for believing there are 2 monsters:
1: A huge tremor shakes New York and then a building in the inner city is destroyed (monster 1) and then the statue of liberties head is then thrown to the ground (monster 2 possibly larger than monster 1).
2: the tail that took down the Manhattan bridge is way too big for the monster that we see eat Hud.
3: did anybody notice that the monster we first see right before they enter the subway didn't have those red lung like things in it's head? And the head was of different shape?
4: The monster we see the jet bombers take down seems very slow and kinda crawls or looks like it's crawling. It takes down the helicopter but the helicopter lands pretty far away from where the monster hit it. Then all of a sudden another monster is already right behind Hud and the others at the crash site.
J.J Abrams did say that the monster is still a baby. But could he be referring to just one monster? Maybe there is a mom and baby monster.
What do you guys think? Fuzion? Film Fiend?

Yeah idk, the thing w/ it hitting the chopper was awesome but maybe a little far-fetched.

I only want them to do a second film if they do it right. I don't want them to ruin what I thougth was a great movie by doing a terrible sequel.

A satellite? Damn i thought it was the monster. Would have been f*cking interesting if it came from outer space so that it would lead to a Voltron movie but f*ck it. So what do you think about a possible story for the second film if they will do a second.

"JJ stated himself that the monster has been down at the bottom of the ocean for thousands of years. What fell into the ocean at the end of the movie was a satellite. If you pay attention to the viral marketing, Taragutu's site states that one of their satellites fell out of orbit and was lost. This is what woke up the monster from its dormant state."

If THE CITY (not my friends and i, that wasn't the case in the movie) was getting attacked by a monster, and one of my friends who'd been filming for hours was killed by the monster, and the camera was right there, yes, I'd go pick it up and CONTINUE (not START) filming, while running for my life.
As far as Beth getting impaled and not bleeding to death... don't go to a movie about a giant sea-monster attacking NYC and expect for everything in it to be 100% flawless. Although I will say your comment about her "running until the next morning" was retarded. She ran for maybe an hour.
"What f*ckin' story?" If you don't care about the people in the movie, why the f*ck did you go see it? If you, as you said, just wanted to see a monster movie, then you shouldn't have gone to see Cloverfield, a movie about people.
Cell phone reception in the subway? It's not like they were in the tunnels, f*cktard. They were right beyond the stairs leading down there. They could f*ckin see outside, a cell phone signal could reach the outside too.
The monster was stupid? You're pretty much alone on that one. Even 90% of the people who hated this movie are big enough to admit that the monster was awesome.
The effects were amazing. The shaky cam didn't cloud it, it was part of it. The fact that they made all that sh*t seem as if it were actually recorded on that camera was f*cking amazing.
You're calling this film unoriginal? Really? How many other movies are there that cover the chaos and catastrophe of a brand-new giant monster attacking the city in a doc*mentary style?
And I'm sorry, the acting was just as good as you'll get in any giant monster movie. And it was only made better by the fact that these people are virtual unknowns.
As far as the last scene, where something splashes into the ocean, I honestly don't know what to think about that. Obviously the first guess is that it's the monster splashing into the ocean or something, maybe from another planet, but my personal theory is that the monster had been living in the ocean the whole time, so that wouldn't make sense. Personally, I just don't have any idea what it is.

This online bickering ss kinda getting old. So Fuzion and film fiend if you guys like cloverfield then that's your thing. I personally hate the f*cking thing and regret going to see it. If they do make a part 2 then i really wish they don't keep the whole film in first person camera shaky cam other wise I'd hate it all over again. But hey fuzion, do you know anything about the last scene where they said something lands in the water behind Rob and Beth as they are in the ferris wheel?
