I must admit that I was very surprised with this movie. I thought that it'd be just like a Godzilla movie, but just in doc*mentary style and except for Tokyo, they were in NYC. Instead what I got was that Cloverfield is The Blair Witch Project meets Godzilla. The story in the movie is pretty interseting. The good thing about the story is that it's creative, creepy, and very interesting. The only problem I had with the story is that I wish it wasen't a monster like thing that was destroying New York City. It was a well made monster, but I wish it was something more interseting than just a monster that spawns off other monsters.

The acting in this movie is phenominal! It's not like other horror movies where they sound all preppy while being murdered. They sound like actual people. To me, the one that was the most convincing (out of all the people in the entire movie that was the most convincing in all the convincing characters) was Lizzy Caplans character. I'm glad to finally see her in a movie after Mean Girls. She plays emo very well.

The directing is awesome. The guy who directed this movie must have been just a down-right genius! It's about time someone besides the director of The Blair Witch Project can direct a doc*mentary style horror movie!

The visuals in this movie are great for the most part. The only thing bad thing about the visuals in Cloverfield is the shaky camera effect. I really hate it when the camera gets too shaky because it makes me feel sick. But since that's a little problem, I didn't take off much for the visuals.

Overall, Cloverfield is a very fun and creepy movie to watch from start to finish. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see how all monster movies should be.
