The musings on pop culture are as funny as ever, but the extended bestiality scene falls flat in nearly every way. What doesn't work about Clerks II is that while Dante and Randall in their 20s were funny and relatable, in their 30s they're just sad. Dante fails to appreciate just how good he has it and Randall has all the likability of an internet predator. Smith would have been better off making a sequel to Jay & Silent Bob, and taken Elias along with them. At least they're a pairing intended to be losers.

Smith's worst film.
