I heard this version is horrible but I'll watch it.
If most of you are fed up watching Hollywood crap then I suggest film festival Independent films. You'll be surprised how many of them are quite good.
I'll be working on an Independent film in the next week or so.

i loved their posters, by the way, it was really one of the worst movies i had ever seen, i like the original than this- it doesn't make any sense...

No big deal Diablo Rojo, i guess is just what makes the difference between a GREAT Movie and an entertained movie, and this one 4 sure i wont watch it again.
All we people here claim "give us a GOOD Movie!", one that we will remember and dont forget, neat effects can be found in normal movies around, but this one could be improoved a lot...with actual physics and history discoveries, the mith could be reinforced with a small twist, but it looks like there are no imagination or no movie genius any more...

All I know is that I was entertained for two hours and left with a smile on my ugly mug so I'm not complaining. If I can escape from this crappy world for a while and get to enjoy some cool action and neat effects, it's a huge win for me. If you think the effects were better in the original, I must say we will have to agree to disagree. My thing is, I just don't think we need to nitpick the movie to death. In the end it's just a movie meant to entertain us not cure cancer. Just because the myth has been around for ages doesn't mean this version has to follow it word for word.

You are right, just after the movie i started to ask my friends who has the old one (1981) to watch, i remember the old one it was way better than this. The characters were not fully developed and there is no Love story the original mith has survived for thousands of years because it has all !, no need to add or take away, in no way an improvement over the original, in few words it sucks...

Who the hell was Io and why she there??

Removing the Perseus/Andromeda love story plot means that Perseus has NO reason to go on this quest. Except...they made him. That's it!

    The Kraken sucked.

And why the hell would they ruin two of the greatest monster characters ever created for movies - Medusa (who scared the piss out of me in the original - still does! and now looks like the russian supermodel she was 'played' by) and Calibos!! Oh god, what a great character.

Unbelievable how much they could sucked the soul of a great, fun, awesome sword-and-sandals Bmovie as much as they did.

I remember once thinking 'Wow, with the FX they have now, think what an incredible movie they could do if someone ever remakes this!"

Thanks for f*cking that up, Louis.

Ya wanna know why it sucked?

    1. Io's presence in this movie is a f*cking joke. Yeah, it's a remake so new ideas are always welcome...as long as they make sense. Io never interacted with Perseus in Greek Myth. It was always about Perseus and Andromeda, who is cast aside like expired milk in this piece of sh*t. Why was Io in this movie? I don't know, and I don't think the writers did either. They just wanted a new female love interest even thought Andromeda is still the person Perseus has to save in the end. No god damn sense.

    2. Sam Worthington's Perseus is like a stale piece of bread. He carries the same expression throughout the entire movie. Not once did I feel sympathy for him or applaud his heroic deeds, and it's all because of Worthington's performance.

    3. While the visuals were good, except for the clearly CGI Medusa(who seems a lot more pretty than she's supposed to be) Leterrier's decision to sell-out and convert the film to 3D ruins it. The theater I went to didn't offer the option of 2D or 3D, so I took a chance and suffered through 2 hours of having to wear the glasses for no apparent reason. Nothing popped out at me. The 3D was completely pointless.

I pretty much summed up my review in which I gave it 1.5 stars. At least in the original, despite its problems, everything was there for a reason, and by the end of the movie, it feels like the journey meant something. In this laughable remake, it doesn't mean sh*t and aspects seem like they're in the movie just because they're in the original. So Hades is in control of a SEA MONSTER instead of Poseidon(who gets one line even though he's acted by Danny Huston)? So we're expected to give a sh*t about Andromeda when Perseus loves someone else, even though she's the one whose life he has to save, and even though they actually marry each other in Greek Myth? So Pegasus is black now?

    F*ck this movie.

  20. ParkWilliams

Yeah, @petergqola, the Kraken was a rip off of the Cloverfield monster, the sacrifice of Andromeda was a rip off of the scene from King Kong, the scene where they ride the Scorpiox was a rip off of the Oliphaunts from LOTR... you want me to keep going or have I proved my point?

  21. Emmytt

director/writers originality my ass the Kraken looked like the cloverfiled monster and the so called director/writers originality isnt there

    5 years agoby @emmyttFlag

  22. Na'vi Hater

Ok you so called critics we get your point.No.1 note how in the movie they call Pegasus A PEGASUS, meaning its the name given to the horse/bird. An secondly persius is a demi GOD, the other charecters were bound to die. They were up against Medusa after all. And how do you know what the Kraken looked like? Exactly. We can't go around telling people it's not how something should be, otherwise we lose our creativity and imagination guys. After watching it again with a bit more enthusiasm I quite enjoyed it, because of the director/writers originality. PEAce!!

This movie already has a dvd and blu ray disc release date, so mark your calendars if your interested, because it's coming out to dvd and blu ray disc, which will be on "July 27th, 2010 Tuesday".

the movie was one of the things that you just read from an encyclopedia about the greek mythology then you think of creating a movie if you had just read the book then you would be knowing what would happen then and the only person whom knew what he was doing was the guy who acted as hedes at least he was of substance i think that the people who created this thing thought that the guy who had acted avatar would bring his touch but that was not it think twice

  25. Emmytt

i just watch this movie and i have to say i am disappointed what went wrong?
oh right the 3d i was watching the 2d one and i clearly saw were the 3d was going to be if i sawed it 3d it was so f*cking stupid i felt i was watching spy kids 3 all over again though i did like the action scenes but i hated the Medusa part. in that part they were like oh lets just kill everyone off expect the main character of course he has to do a dull battle with the kraken but yea this movie was mediocre trash. i will watch again of course muted just for the action scenes.

  27. Emmytt

ParkWilliams i know i am just saying this Hollywood screws most remakes over and they try not to follow the same story even though they are supposed to

    5 years agoby @emmyttFlag

  28. ParkWilliams

@emmytt: The point of a remake may not be to recreate the original piece by piece in it's entirety, but a remake should still be the same story, the same plot, no matter whether or not it plays out differently. Clash of the Titans didn't really care about that and changed the most basic elements of the original plot for the sake of what they claim as 'originality' which isn't very original in the end.

This movie sucks. Who pays these review people to say good things about sh*tty movies? The effects are half assed, the acting is weak, the dialogue should have been skipped all together, the monsters on shrek are better, there was no point of going 3D except to charge more at the box office. It was not exciting. It was not entertaining. It was not as good as the original. The ending sucked.
