Release The Kraken!
STORY: Born as a God but raised as a Man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is now on a perilous journey with a group of warriors to find a way to stop Hades, the evil God of the Underworld, from releasing the Kraken and unleashing Hell on Earth; he must also accept his fate as a God in order to keep his men alive during the mission, even though he's trying to be as a Man. This movie has a good plot that follows well, and we also go behind the character Perseus on how he was born as a half-Man, half-God. I'm not really much of a fan of Greek Mythology, but this movie's story really entertained me and made me kinda interested in Greek Mythology!
ACTING: The acting in this movie was great in my book. Sam Worthington still does an excellent job at acting just like he did in "Avatar" and "Terminator Salvation." Liam Neeson does a nice job as Zeus, the good God of the Heavens; while Ralph Fiennes also does a splendid job with a harsh voice playing Hades. All the actors in this movie did great jobs, even Gemma Arterton. I actually have a tiny flaw with her accent sometimes just like her performance in "Prince Of Persia," but she did better with a normal accent in this movie.
DIRECTING: I think Louis Leterrier is a fantastic director. I didn't care that much about the "Transporter" movies since I despise Jason Statham, but I loved "The Incredible Hulk" from 2008, and now he has made this remake of a 1981 original that actually looks really boring. I enjoyed Leterrier's directing to the film. He made this remake a LOT better than the original by making it more entertaining and fun! The editing and music he chose were pretty good too. I heard he was gonna make this into a trilogy, but he's not gonna direct the sequel. Damn. That's a bummer. His directing to this movie was great, but...oh, well.
VISUALS: The visuals were fantastic! The action sequences and the CGI on the Kraken, giant scorpions, and all the other creatures in this movie were jaw-dropping amazing! That's what made me watch this movie twice! Back when this movie was out in theaters, I heard the 3D was really terrible and it was actually the very first 3D movie I heard that sucked way before "The Last Airbender" came out, but I haven't seen this movie in the theater so I can't judge. I only saw this in 2D after renting the DVD, and because of that, I had no problems with the visuals whatsoever.
OVERALL: A really good-and-enjoyable movie in my opinion! I'm glad this movie was worth my time since I love epic movies! Though, this movie was not as awesome as "The Incredible Hulk" was, "Clash Of The Titans" was still really good and I enjoyed it better than what other people thought of it! I am so buying the DVD of this! And as for the sequel, even though Louis Leterrier will not be directing it, I say bring it on!
