Children of Men: Review By Mr.White

This movie is a work of art. I got cold chills many times during this film not only for the moving story but the incredible cinematography and raw emotion it produces. My jaw dropped at one 5-minute shot in the movie that I would LOVE to see the making of. I also completely disagree with anyone that says the ending made it a waste of money or they feel they've gotten ripped off. I've listened to people trash endings before simply because there was no panoramic camera shot with victory music playing and a fade to black. There wasn't much left unanswered and it pulled away just enough to leave the movie open for interpretation while leaving you with a feeling of hope or accomplishment. As for the political undertone, I see this movie as a statement for worldwide unity, not JUST illegal immigrant deportation. The world is in chaos because of a loss of hope for the future, how in the world would deporting immigrants cause women to stop having babies? That's preposterous. All in all this film moved me right to the core and leaving the theater has never felt so surreal.
