Based on George Crile's book about the CIA's largest and most successful covert CIA operation, the arming of the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan. The covert ops were engineered by Charlie Wilson (Hanks), a charismatic, wheeler-dealer, liberal Texas congressman who teamed with a rogue CIA operative (Hoffman). The two manipulated Congress, the CIA and a host of foreign governments in order to assist the Afghan rebels in their fight against the Soviets in the 1980s. Anyway, regarding the movie, it is pretty awesome, great cinematography, but I hope they do realize that the plot should have been better and had a better ending... but overall, its pretty good movie!

A very well put together script, sweet, sensitive and provocative political movie. I enjoyed the humor in it and the ways of means to get to the ends as long as no one is really getting hurt, why not. let's all dress up classy and sexy and seduce a little here and there, we might just stop all the wars around the world. Note: I don't know why, but it made me think of Hogan's Heroes ha ha ha~:))
