Many people may not know what this movie is. It wasn't releashed in many theatres and honestly i don't think it did we'll. It wasn't advertised and i didnt even know what it was until i saw it on "OnDemand". It was on the "Showtime" section and i read the plot and i just decided to give it a watch. It sounded decent. It didnt sound horrible to me BUT, the fact that the movie wasn't even advertised or ever heard of in my head...i figuered it was horrible. I watched it. It was only one hour and twenty five minutes, short movie, i know. I actually found it to be an alright movie. This isn't that bad. It's enjoyable to watch. Some of the torture scenes are worse than the killings in "Saw". I mean it! This movie was sort of like a mixture between "Saw" and "Hostel". "Saw" is one of my favorite horror/suspenses and "Hostel" was just a okay movie that i'd never watch agian. BUT when you mix the two movies together you get "Captivity". Now "Captivity" isn't the greatest movie. Irs got some terrible scenes here and there but it also has its good ones. The movie's torture scenes are the reason i kept it on. I liked the plot idea but this movie sort of went OVER-THE-TOP! This movie never really explained why these crazy men would kidnap the women. I wish it were explained. Did they have liking for these women? Did they hate them? Did they just choose women out of a random state? Why did they choose these certain people? Why? I will never know, i guess. lol. Here is what i liked AND disliked about "Captivity".

PLOT/: [SOME SPOILERS]

The plot of the movie is simple. A man and a women wake up to a celluar where there kidnapper tortures them to make them go insane. Its a cool plot but some parts are really dumb. Like the fact that the man is apart of the kidnappers game and he pretended to be captured to "woo" the women. THAT was sort of over-the-top stupid! BUT, some parts were just awesome! Like the part were the women has to drink blended eye balls and feet mixed with blood. THAT WAS NASTY! BUT awesome! lol. Like i said though, some parts in this movie were awesome while some were just plain dumb!

[NO MORE SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT]

ACTING:

The movie has some bad acting. No offense to the actors or actresses but you all lacked. I only knew one actress in this movie and thats Elisha Cuthbert. She was the only person i recognized from the movie and i can't even say that i'm familar with her that much. She was the only "Okay" performance in the movie. THATS IT...."OKAY?!" Nothing more than an "Okay" from anyone. Elisga Cuthbert has acted in things such as a few seasons of "24", movies such as "Old School", "The Girl Next Door", "House of Wax", and nothing else i can think of. All in all, the acting was bad. There could have been a improvment in all the performances.

All and all, this movie is enjoyable to watch. Its not great but it kills a Saturday night when yea got nothing to do but watch bad acting and torture mixed together. But you do get three stars with that. So i actually say see this.

The movie itself i didn't really like although some of the performances were good. Elisha plays a great horror victim, and Daniel was very good in this film. Remy Thorne was a little creeper in the few scenes he had too. Very good acting by those three. The plot was a little over the top and too outside the realm of reality but it was a fun way to waste time lol
