Because of Winn-Dixie is utterly harmless and fine for any children to see. But boy, is it stupid. I can’t say it’s as bad as pathetic movies like The Boogeyman or morally reprehensible movies like Never Die Alone, but it sure is equally boring.

The adults in this movie are such ridiculous caricatures that the movie would have to be a cartoon to support them. A crotchety old guy grumbles and literally shakes his cane at the girl and her dog. A supermarket owner nearly cries over getting licked by the dog and a guy in the background stands around looking so pissed off he should be a bouncer at a trendy nightclub.

Comedy scenes include giving the dog a bath to a cover version of “Splish Splash
