I actually saw Be Kind Rewind a few weeks ago. I don't remember why I didn't review it. Oh ya, I had the flu. The fliz-u. That SUCKED. So, I loved this movie to death. No, for real I thought that it was great. I was just all over it. I thought that it was inspiring. I was INSPIRED afterwords. I didn't do anything except talk about what movies I'd like to swede. I didn't actually swede any films. I'd like to though. I heard sweding defined as taking something that you like and adding yourself to it. That's actually what ISR is like. I'm just telling you about things that I like and adding my little spin to them.

You have to know the deal with the movie by now. It's about a bunch of geeks who erase all of the movies at the the video store/thrift store that they work at so they decide to re shoot all of the tapes low-tech style. The genius of the movie is in the movies that they make. They have ingenious ideas by the ton. I want for you to see it so I'm not going to get into them too much but there is one involving a copy machine and the negative button on the video camera that still has me reeling. I don't know how someone could even THINK of doing something like that. It would never EVER occur to me. I know, cut out the caps but on the real I am exclaiming them for you to hear with all of my might. Understand that.

I think this is an important flick. You should see it. It has ideas about community and creativity that for real inspired me for weeks. Just so that you can know I think that the three most important movies TO ME from the recent past are. In no particular order.

1. Fight Club. The ideas here will reshape your whole sh*t.

2. Office Space. Come on, you've seen and loved this.

3. Be Kind Rewind.

I just added Be Kind right now. Ask Maritza it's always just been my list of two important movies. I actually don't buy a lot of DVDs. I have Netflix so it's like I keep all my movies there. Ya know. Be Kind is one that I'd buy though. I'd like to have it close at hand for when I need a little creative pick me up. Just so that I can have full disclosure here I also keep Rocky Balboa, not Rocky around for when my work outs need a little extra something.

Be Kind's been out for awhile so I guess you can wait for the DVD but see it ok? Jack Black and Most Def are alright. Black does his thing and Mos talks in a squeaky voice. It's not about them though or Danny Glover even though Danny Glover is cool and I liked seeing him here. My neck hurts right now. I need a pill of some sort. That's besides the point.

I totally dug the store. It was a combination video store/ thrift store. All the tapes were one dollar per day. What a weird neighborhood though. Everyone rented tapes. I understand though. Glover has the last neighborhood video store in the area. The video store was a good thing. You browsed, talked to the clerk who new stuff about movies, got recommendations, watched wild movies. It hearkens back to an earlier time when all grocery stores weren't Safeway and all sundries didn't come from Target. Netflix is pretty dope though.

Anyhow, I should prolly get to my chores. I just wanted to get some of this off of my chest. I felt bad not telling you how much I dug this movie. Like I was keeping a secret or something.
