It appears that DC has been releasing straight to DVD animated films these past few months and their latest is Batman Under the Red Hood. This movie is portrayed in the dark fashion that we know and love( heck it even starts with Joker beating robbin with a crowbar senselessly!) The voice acting is spot on even though batman is not voiced by Kevin Conroy or Joker by Mark Hamil. The characters are portayed well in a way that works for fans. Joker is like a mix of both like a Ledger meets Hamil kind of way. The Red Hood early on displays his skills and makes it known to the crime lords of gotham that he is a forced to be rekoned with. All and all the film was great even though the twist is seen coming by a mile away. In short the bat is the dark knight of gotham and joker is the twisted being we all know. There are a few other recognized characters but i wont spoil anything. So if your a fan of the bat and want so dark tales like that of "Return of the Joker" then give this film a look. A 5 out of 5
