Awesome Canadian indie flick. First-time writer/director Sarah Polley trades the front of the camera for behind it with such ease that her film is almost oblivious to her presence. Julie Christie and Gordon Pinsett give painstakingly nuanced and understated performances in a bleakly poetic and heartbreakingly natural love story. This is my favorite film of the year, so far. Polley is a force to watch.
