Awake: Review By The Lost Girl

What intrigued me about this movie was the storyline. The fact that supposedly the type of medical mishap portrayed has actually happened. Also, I've been a Terrence Howard fan since I saw him in "Hart's War".

The storyline itself was good, but could have been better. I personally felt it was overshadowed by Hayden Christensen's mediocre acting. I had a hard time believing his character, and his acting was stiff. I also felt his narrating during the operation was laughable, and I couldn't take him seriously.

Jessica Alba did a better than her average job in this, playing the love interest/newlywed/actually a villian character.

Terrence Howard was the highlight of this movie. He plays the guilt ridden surgeon who, along with his colleagues, heads up the plot to take the heart.

Most of the movie is told in flashback, as Hayden's character has an out-of-body experience while on the operating table, and the mystery storyline unfolds. Unfortunately for me, I had already figured out the ending.

Overall, an okay movie that could have been alot better. Entertaining, and will make me think twice should I ever have to go under the knife.
