Arachnophobia: Review By alljack

This is a superb movie for those of us who occasionally like to be scared, but don't want to be grossed out. And who's not afraid of spiders?

If you walk into your basement and you shudder to think about spiders, watch this movie. The sense that our creepy eight-legged neighbors are under the bed is pefectly exploited in this overlooked thriller. (Actually, they are under the bed.) The cast is very good, the cinematography (in the first part especially) is spectacular. It's a scary movie for people who don't need torture and gore to be stimulated. John Goodman in the last part of the movie plays a cartoonish character with great gusto. There is wit and restraint in the direction, and intelligece in every frame. I watch it every couple of years.
