American Reunion is a pretty funny movie. I was laughing here and there. Its by no means perfect and no where as good, clever or original as the previous installments. But it still has some laugh out loud moments and its nice to check in on the old gang
Story: 4/5 - All the American Pie characters we met a little more than a decade ago return to East Great Falls for their high-school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn't and that time and distance can't break the bonds of friendship. It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye. Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stifler's mom. Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about-and get inspired by-the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend.
Story: 4/5 - To say the least i love the story it was pure genius the writing team behind the 2nd Harold and Kumar film. Have done there best to bring back all the characters we missed and were curious about (including yes the Sherminator). But it was just weird to see how grown up and old these characters that we love have become. Stiffler is a temp who works for a sleazy brick of a boss. Oz is a sportscaster (recently kick off a celebrity dance competition). Jim is still....Jim. Jim's Dad (the amazing Eugene Levy who makes the whole movie with a post credit scene). Is going through the loss of his wife. Kevin is a stay at home husband and Finch is living the dream. Acting: 4/5 - Obviously the chemistry between all the leads is there and i love to watch them on screen. But the real show stealer is Sean William Scott as the iconic "Stiffmeister". Every scene he is in, makes the movie better than it already is, pretty much every line out of his mouth had my theater cheering. And Eugene Levy whom has been with us since the very start. Directing: 3/5 - Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg due there best to add there brand of humor the franchise but unfortunately they end up making the worst out of the original bunch, i respect there efforts for trying, but i did not see them best fit to make this film.
Overall: 3/5 - American Reunion is a pretty funny movie. I was laughing here and there. Its by no means perfect and no where as good, clever or original as the previous installments. But it still has some laugh out loud moments and its nice to check in on the old gang. So put the Nostalgia on high and get ready to reminisce in the old environment. But don't be to thrilled. If the movie is not as funny as you hope cause for the most part that is whats gonna happen. My biggest concern. I guess i did have my expectations set to high and it lead to what my overall thought of the movie. was. Hopefully if they intend to make another film they could learn from there mistakes. (maybe shorter) the 113min run time was not very helpful either. Because at times the film dragged on more than it needed to. Maybe a smoother 90min would have been better. But instead. There are also some melodramatic parts that were just iffy. and did not feel there. But overall. It's still an American Pie film and it brings back everyone for one final gathering (i hope) and it still has the tarnish brand of humor that we all have come to know and love. So go see this movie with your buddies..because its worth it to see in theaters. Just one trip tho. Mild Reccomendation.
Thanks for stoppin buy ....
