as much as i enjoyed this film it did not excite me or hold my attention as much as eastern promises did.

yes this film had an excellent cast and even more so an excellent director,in fact one of the best around at the moment in the business;this film was not very gripping and as based on a true story there was substance and potential for being one of the greastest gangster films of our time...if not all-time!!!

yet it did not quite live up to expectations and although close,the essence and story of the film i feel has been overshadowded by the use of two of the mst prolific actors in hollywood!!!
