Aliens Vs. Predator - Requiem: Review By Horologii

I saw the first Alien vs Predator movie and found it rather entertaining. The set up was good and the monsters really turned out well. I'm not saying it was the absolute best movie ever--but it certainly satisfied me.

Thus I entered into the theatre this time around with high hopes for another loverly piece o' smack down--and I'm still waiting. T_T

The human characters were remarkably flat and evoked neither interest not sympathy. Characters were literally introduced just so they could be killed a half a scene later. ~_~ Now I love the Predators to pieces and the Aliens aren't bad either but I was left completely unsatisfied with both of them. The whole movie is spent in the dark and the rain and you can't tell who's doing what. Did the Predator just kill that Alien? I don't know, I couldn't see the thing! In know lurking in the dark is something monster things do, but really--one of the draws of this film was to see what a Predator/Alien hybrid looked like and I'm still not sure. The action element in a movie ought to be something you can see without squinting.
