Akira: Synopsis
"Akira" is based on anime artist Katsuhiro Otomo's six-volume graphic novel masterwork. The film is said to take place in "New Manhattan," a metropolis that was rebuilt after being destroyed 31 years ago. The famous motorcycle will also definitely be a part of the film.

Are they up for the task, i have seen other great anime turned into movies such as Guyver, dragonball etc, and i was very dissappionted, they better not touch Ghost in the shell, only a master japanese directer and etc could touch something like these, dont get ur hopes up guys.

if i were making this movie i would not set it as it is in the comics. I would have to set it in neo new york instead of neo tokyo becaus i dont see how this movie woul do good with a all japanese cast. I know it would do great if they set it up as a new thing even though the original cartoon was great. But you can only go one of those two ways because Dragonball thaught us this lesson. and if they go the japanese route they keep the soundtrack

And they sould get either deadamu5, crystal castles, daft punk, or dubtep to do the soundtrack because tron legacy was sick with the soundtrack tehy put in the movie

If they want to make this movie right they should get a director like spielberg, jj abrams, chris nolan, george lucas, or zach snyder. This would be cool if they filmed it in a big city and added some cgi to it to give it that dramatic affect it had in the animated movie. And they need to keep this story aboout a teen bike gang so they shouldnt cast someone as old as keanu reeves to play kaneda. they need to cast younger people and they should not redesign kanedas bike. They can also try to give it that look that tron legacy had.
