Plot:
the movie begins with A young Abe Lincoln working with his father with later plot points addressed such as Abe's Dislike of slavery and how his best friend is in fact Black. one night young Lincoln witnesses hit mothers murder at the hands of a vampire. We fast forward to a few years later where Abe is now in his late teen's early twenties where Abraham has vowed revenge on his mothers killer and awaits his target in a bar where he meets a man named henry who teaches abe how to hunt and kill vampires. and what follows is a mix of history and just pure mindless action.
Acting: Benjamin Walker was an excellent choice for our 16th president his chemistry with Mary Elizabeth Winstead was a bit contrived but i wasn't expecting any oscar worthy performances. What had me completely baffled though was that Mary Todd spoke like she was just some modern day female who happened to be in a period film but what ever it just added to what made me like the movie so much. Dominic Cooper as Henry was my favorite roll in the whole film he just added something to the movie that I just can't put my hand on it was like he was a metaphorical father figure to Abraham Lincoln. And the vampires powers
Directing: Ok now the fun part of the review Timur Bekmambetov, the director of wanted teamed up with producer Tim Burton to create one of the most absurd films I've ever seen, my favorite scene of the entire film was the Fight between Lincoln and Bart The Vampire who killed Lincoln's mother. I wont describe it but hot dam it had me smiling from start to finish.as with the whole movie. and if there is one thing this movie teaches viewers is that Vampires can be blamed for many things in history. speaking of Vampires they pretty much turned into mutants that could walk in the sun without sparkling like idiots.
Overall: Definitely not the best movie this year, but who cares its a Cheesetastic good time at the movies

great review. I love the "so horrible its fantastic" because that is a philosophy i often take. Several of my all time favs are so bad you ant help but like them. I am surprised you ave it a 5 but its nice to see someone who appreciates it for what it is.
Not only am i a fan of the novel but Timur Bekmembatov is one of my favorite genre directors. After I read the Night Watch trilogy i got busy and watched the films. It was love at first sight.
Your review gives me hope
