A Prairie Home Companion: Review By dacon

An oddly arranged film with characters so beguiling that it can't be ignored.

I loved this movie for the characters' interplay - the direction was very good between the sisters, Streep and Tomlin, as they distinctly played their interwoven histories. The angel character seemed out of place and took up space that I couldn't quite reconcile, even up to the end. If the primary characters could have been dramatized more and the angel character downplayed, I could have enjoyed this movie a little more. The wrap up left me wanting a re-write, but I so enjoyed Streep and Tomlin that I was happy I watched this movie.
