Critcs panned this film calling it one thin joke stretched over 80 tiring minutes. What do you expect after you see a film like this? F*ck the critics, they dont like pointless comedies or slasher films. Me, I do. Night at the Roxbury is a very funny film about two idiot nightclubbing brothers Doug and Steve Butabi, who attempt to get into the biggest night club, Roxbury. Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan reprise their roles in the famous SNL skit adapated from this movie. It wouldve been nice to see at least a cameo of Carrey but too bad he wasnt in the film. Steve and Doug enjoy frequenting nightclubs, bobing their heads to the famous What Is Love song by Haddaway (derived from the SNL skit) and fail miserably to pick up women. Attempting to get into the biggest nightclub around, Roxbury, these two idiots are denied entrance courstey of the hulking bouncer (Michael Clarke Duncan). While continually getting denied entrance they attempt to bribe the bouncer. This leads to the hilarious Geroge Washington bit. A frequently, annoying retelling they tell tell to try to impress girls is this line: Doug Butabi: So anyways, I was standing there waiting to use the pay phone.

Steve Butabi: Yeah, he was, seriously.

Doug Butabi: And this guy who was on the phone, turns around and tips his hat like this.

Steve Butabi: And who do you think that guy was?

Doug Butabi: Emilio Estevez.

Steve Butabi: The Mighty Duck man, I swear to God, I was there.

Doug Butabi: Of course you were, you were the one who yelled the Breakfast Clubber's name.

Steve Butabi: I was like, "Emilio."

This hilarious bit is used numerous times throughout the film and always fails. Will Ferrell giving one of his first major performances here is what I believe is one of his funniest. And you cant forget about the hilarious performance from Chris Kattan. The acting, directing, story is not much to be valued in the film but what John Fortenberry really wants the audience to do is laugh. And it worked for some. Definetly me. A hilarious film A Night at the Roxbury is a film you know is terrible but you love anyways. I love this film because it will make me laugh anytime I see it. And thats one of the best things to do.
