The Proposal (2009): Review

"What is this, a gameshow? " - THE SCREENWRITER
Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds come together for this summer romantic comedy titled "The Proposal". I, being a fan of romantic comedies thought that this movie looked good but I didn't expected it to be this good. I liked this movie because it had a funny story-line to it and the chemistry between the actors/actresses was great! This was the perfect romantic comedy! I really enjoyed this because it was filled with outragous laughter. The movie stayed funny for the whole thing! So, what do I say to my fellow readers? I say, go out and see "The Proposal"!

THE CAST:

Sandra Bullock, known for romantic comedies actually didn't want to star in this. She read over the script and knew she had to do because it was so good. There's a little "Proposal" fun-fact for yea! Ryan Reynolds who has starred in a few comedies such as "Just Friends" and "Definatly Maybe", and has also starred in this years MARVEL excitment "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", playing Deadpool. Betty White does a HILARIOUS job in this movie playing Grandma Annie and Craig T. Nelson [voice from Pixar's "The Incredibles"] plays Mr. Paxton. Sandra plays Margrett Tate while Ryan plays Andrew Paxton. Malin Akerman, the actress from "Watchmen" plays a part in this movie as well. And, be ready to see another hilarious performence from Oscar Nunez playing Ramone. The cast in this movie is great, so DONT expect bad acting from this.

DIRECTION:

Anne Flether, director of "27 Dresses" and "Step Up", directs this romantic comedy doing a good job. The movie is directed nicley so don't expect a bad direction from this.

VISUALS:

Not a very visual type movie. The boat scene was just about it so I can't say that I'll complain that there isn't any visuals cause' it's only a comedy.

THE GOOD:

The movie keeps you laughing from beginning to end.

THE BAD:

The movie had a little too much drama scenes that were a little too dramatic.

IS IT WORTH SEEING IN THE MOVIES OR WAITING FOR THE DVD?:

I enjoyed seeing it in theatres but it is really up to the person. If you like romantic comedies, I say go see it on the big screen. If you could care-less about the genre, I would say wait for the DVD. I, being a fan of the genre am happy for seeing it on the big screen.

IS IT WORTH THE PURCHASE OF THE TICKET?:

I think it is. I enjoyed it. But, like I already said, this has to be your type of film to like this.

OVERALL:

Overall, a funny/hilarious comedy that will keep you entertained. I was! The movie was pretty funny and I think it is a great way to start the summer.
