An all round good film; the acting was great, complimented well by some amazing backdrops. The story was simple but effective and i was drawn in instantly. I liked the use of voice overs by Julie Delpy; like a running commentary for how she really felt and what was going on ,it was utilized well at the beginning, explaining their relationship and journey thus far. it gave us everything we needed to know with no time wasted in explaining throughout the film. It was a truely captivating film; Julie Delpy and Adam Goldberg gave great performances.

I like that they didnt use subtitles for the french, it helped the viewer identify with Adam Goldberg's character; the isolation he felt not being able to communicate or understand Marions family and friends. I think the film encourages the viewer to see things from Jacks point of view, not only through the lack of understanding another language but also in the way he takes all the photographs of their trip; we only see pictures from their travels from his P.O.V. Although Marion tells the story through voice overs its hard to see her side of things in their relationship. I think this film would have a completely different feel to it if we saw it from Marions Point of view.
