This should have been a good movie, but Stephen King hasn't supplied anything good so far, except for Sercret Window, why did I think this would be different, (we'll see about The Mist)!

Now when I saw the preview I was enticed, John Cusack and Samuel Jackson, I’m down with, trapped in a haunted room, cool, visuals excellent, but the story just didn’t add up. Three instances of this was scene in the actually movie trailer, John Cusack’s daughter was suppose to be this scary ghost who grabs him and has a deep voice, non of this was in the movie. The second was when john Cusack is the room and the water feels the room, Samuel Jackson is suppose to come in the room and say “I warned you about room 1408, saving him from the room, this wasn’t in the movie. The final discrepancy was John Cusack getting in to his car, my interpretation was that he got away and was safe and this was the end, and Samuel Jackson’s face is burned and John has a heart attack, after he looks in the review mirror, and tries to escape, also not in the movie. The movie began good, had good visuals (good cinematography), I loved the countdown, the acting was very good, but the story didn’t develop into anything spectacular just average. Stephen King’s work is usually like this starts out good or alright, and ends expectantly boring. A very low 3.5 out 5 (6.5/10), a renter/watch-it-on-TV.
