NBC is picking up it's sister cable station USA Channel's popular series Monk and Psych for a primetime network run. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this is due to the writers' strike and the lack of original scripted programming that it is causing.

The two USA series usually run back-to-back on Fridays. NBC will replay the upcoming new seasons of both shows on Sunday nights starting January 11th.

NBC's Ben Silverman stated, "These two tremendously popular USA series are a great fit with NBC's current programming strategy and brand." Fellow co-chairman Marc Graboff added, "It's a win-win situation. The shows, both produced by our own Universal Media Studios, receive additional exposure while providing great programming for NBC. NBC is already set to repurpose USA's crime drama Law & Order: Criminal Intent also produced internally at UMS, as well as the Web series Quarterlife."
