Monica Bellucci Is ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’

Starring opposite Nicolas Cage in the Jon Turteltaub-directed adventure.

Monica Bellucci has boarded the cast of Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, according to Variety.

She will play Veronica, a sorceress and the long-lost love of Nicolas Cage's character, Balthazar Blake.

The film, which revolves around a sorcerer who recruits and trains a young protege to help him fight the forces of darkness in modern-day Manhattan, is shooting in New York City with Jon Turteltaub directing.

Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer and Toby Kebbell round out the cast.

The film is scheduled for release on July 16, 2010.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice was released July 14th, 2010 and stars Jay Baruchel, Nicolas Cage, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell, Ethan Peck, Teresa Palmer, Peyton List. The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub.
