When asked about the role, he confirmed that he has been in talks.
"If that happens, if everything works out, then I will be pretty pumped. It's like seven months out of your year. Which is not a bad problem."
However, there may be a scheduling conflict with the Divergent sequel Insurgent, which begins production in April, just a few weeks after Divergent opens on March 21, 2014. When asked about what he will be shooting next, the actor had this to say.
"Right now I'm kind of hanging out. I don't have anything that I'm doing until probably January or February. I don't know 100%. Obviously Insurgent, the next Divergent film...I think they are going to start the second one in April."
It isn't known when Fantastic Four will begin production, so it isn't known for sure if there will be a scheduling conflict or not, but it seems the actor has a full year ahead of him already. We reported earlier this month that Kit Harington and Jack O'Connell have also tested for the Reed Richards role.
Josh Trank is directing the superhero reboot from a script that has been worked on by Simon Kinberg, Jeremy Slater, Michael Green, Seth Grahame-Smith and T.S. Nowlin.
The Fantastic Four comes to theaters August 7th, 2015 and stars Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Tim Blake Nelson, Reg E. Cathey. The film is directed by Josh Trank.
