Anna Kendrick has finalized a deal to star alongside Zac Efron and her Pitch Perfect co-star Adam DeVine in 20th Century Fox's upcoming comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. Zac Efron and Adam DeVine will play the title characters, two hard-partying and immature brothers who place an ad seeking wedding dates. They soon realize that their ad has gone viral.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anna Kendrick is playing a "wild child with a romantic heart" who gets paired up with Zac Efron's character. Mike and Dave both soon become aware that their dates are not only more immature than they are, but they can also out-party the siblings. The other brother's date has yet to be cast.

Jake Szymanski is directing from a screenplay by Brendan O'Brien and Andrew J. Cohen (Neighbors). Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping are producing, although it isn't known when production may begin. 20th Century Fox has already issued a July 15, 2016 release date for the comedy.

Anna Kendrick most recently starred in The Last Five Years, and she will next be seen in Pitch Perfect 2, which hits theaters May 15. She is also attached to The Accountant alongside Ben Affleck and J.K. Simmons, and the upcoming Trolls movie. Do you think Anna Kendrick is the right fit for Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates?
