Screenwriter Jessie Nelson may have found two top-notch actors for his directorial debut, although another actor may be dropping out of the project. Production Weekly is reporting that Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges are finalizing deals to star in Great Hope Springs.

Streep and Bridges will star as a married couple who attends a counseling retreat to try and save their marriage. Philip Seymour Hoffman had been attached to portray the couple's therapist, Dr. Feld, but it was said that scheduling issues may force him to leave the film.

Jessie Nelson, who had previously written films such as I Am Sam, Because I Said So and Fred Claus, will make his directorial debut on the film, directing from a script by Vanessa Taylor.

No production schedule was given for the film.
