Actress Maya Rudolph will play a childhood friend to Tina Fey and Amy Poehlers characters in The Nest, which centers on two sisters throwing a party in their childhood home.

Universal Pictures' upcoming comedy The Nest is shaping up to be a Saturday Night Live reunion, with Maya Rudolph signing on to join her former SNL cast mates Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

The story, written by former Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell, centers on two sisters (Tina Fey and Amy Poehler) who decide to throw one last massive party in their childhood home, before it is sold, which turns into a "cathartic experience" for the siblings and their friends. Maya Rudolph is playing a longtime childhood friend of the sisters, with James Brolin signing on earlier this week to play Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's father, and Ike Barinholtz starring as the male lead.

Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is directing, with Tina Fey, Jay Roach and John C. Lyons producing, and Amy Poehler, Jeff Richmond and Brian Bell serving as executive producers.

In related news, Maya Rudolph has also joined the cast of The Greens Are Gone, alongside Cary Elwes, Anton Yelchin, Catherine Keener and Ryan Eggold. Peer Pedersen is directing from his own screenplay, although no plot details were given.

Sisters comes to theaters December 18th, 2015 and stars Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Santino Fontana, Maya Rudolph, John Leguizamo, Madison Davenport, Heather Matarazzo, John Cena. The film is directed by Jason Moore.
