Matt Damon in Talks to Return as Jason Bourne!

Universal wants Paul Greengrass to return as the director in this project that is separate from 'The Bourne Legacy' sequel, with a future crossover possible.

Universal Pictures is in early negotiations with Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass to return to the Jason Bourne franchise. The actor had previously stated that he will not come back to the franchise unless Paul Greengrass is directing, and, if negotiations are finalized, this may finally happen.

This project is being developed separately from The Bourne Legacy sequel that we reported earlier this month is moving forward with Jeremy Renner and screenwriter Anthony Peckham. The studio plans to continue this franchise regardless of what happens with Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass, but there is the possibility of a crossover featuring both Matt Damon's Jason Bourne and Jeremy Renner's Aaron Cross, if a deal can be made.

Matt Damon starred as Jason Bourne in 2002's The Bourne Identity, directed by Doug Liman, and director Paul Greengrass' sequels The Bourne Supremacy in 2004 and The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007.

Did you catch the most recent interview on here where he said it "makes sense" for movie co's to wanna continue to make money on a franchise and shied away from whether he'd return or do a crossover flick now? Funny how that happens when Renner cleaned up at the box office and previous to that movie being made, Damon said in interviews he never thought another sequel would be nearly as good or make any money.

Further, if he's such a professional why did he take to James Bond bashing when interviewed about his Bourne movie? Why couldn't he merely leave it to professional comments instead of insults about a character whose movies have made 10 times his Bourne flicks following the very pattern of lead role changes they did with Renner? Not professional and not smart.

The only mainstream success Damon's enjoyed has come at the hands of Bourne & Greengrass unless he was a secondary player in a movie like Oceans 11, 12, and 13 or Saving Private Ryan. The man has no bearings on what typical moviegoers want to see and yet the media pretends he's this cinematic genius because of Good Will Hunting years ago. Just like they pretend he knows about politics and fracking which his expensive Ivy League education didn't teach him squat about.

Too right, some greta source material is out there by Eric and though the Renner series is going to kick off sadly a cross over would be a tad cool, to see Renner melt like f*cking ice cream and forever leak and dissapear away from our Screens.

Funny how Damon was all "no freaking way" before the Renner flick made millions and after that very opening weekend the story came out about the possible crossover sequel. And now this. Go ahead Matt, make another movie that is so NOT like that sexist James Bond you hate so much & live off Bourne while the rest of your movies make 10 cents at the box office & you get to continue spewing how non-progressive schools are & how much bigger the government should be while counting your own millions.
