One of the most anticipated TV projects in development is Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D., the ABC pilot created by Marvel's The Avengers director Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen. Production on the pilot is scheduled to begin next month, although we haven't heard when they may consider debuting the show, if ABC issues a series order. Executive producer Jeph Loeb recently revealed that they are aiming for a Fall 2013 debut, if everything goes according to plan.

"Well...we have a 'little' pilot for television that you might have heard about called Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. co-written, directed, and Executive Produced by none other than Joss Whedon! Working with Joss, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell on the show is a blast! And bringing in Clark Gregg to play Agent Phil Coulson -- the best! Hopefully we will be on in the Fall of 2013 on ABC!"

Along with Clark Gregg, Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Ming-Na as Agent Melinda May, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons, Ian De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, and Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward. The series is set within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, but will not include any of the superheroes from Marvel's The Avengers.

With that being said, Samuel L. Jackson, who played S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Nick Fury in Marvel's The Avengers, recently revealed he would like to reprise his role for the series.

"I don't know. I keep hearing about it, and I haven't talked to Joss about it. But in my mind, I would tend to think that he would, if nothing else, be like Charlie in Charlie's Angels. At least be the voice!"

Only time will tell if Samuel L. Jackson (or just his voice} will be included in this potential new series.

that would be kool with me if he wasnt able to appear physically full time but maybe have Fury show up via voice communication or a short video of him giving orders...almost like how how would communicate with the World Security Council in The Avengers.

@corey I think you're right. The movies are all that should be made, no tv shows.

I could honestly careless about this show, but I'll check it out and see what happens. I just don't think Wheadon needs to bring this universe to TV. Personally, I see this show lasting one season, two at most.

he's into everything and nor do I care, at least he's working and that's what counts the most.
As an attention freak, that's what he wants.

Well of course he does. It's the only thing his character really has going for him at this point.

@john-m My comment wasn't direct at Samuel L. Jackson it was directed at the creators of this show in general.

@john-m I'm doubting any of what you said. I merely commented on how recently he's been trying to get back into the revival of Star Wars, confirming his spot on three different roles this year for upcoming releases, now this and other stuff. As a fan, I can't help but poke fun at al these updates. Merely pointing out that this year particularly, he's got the whole "attention whor*" thing floating around. Nothing more, nothing less. More power to the man I say.

I do not see this show lasting at all, people didnt go see the MCU movies for S. H. I. E. L. D, they went for the IM, Thor, Hulk, and CA. This is Disney and Marvels attempt and trying to milk this thing to death. They might want to add SLJ to the line up to get ratings.

@bawnian-dexeus@thedude1: Didn't you know he's been this way for a long time. He's been in over 100 films and has been in more films then any other actor since I think his career began. I think he is in films as a actor/cameo in a average of four films a year. Then there is his TV/voice acting and hosting. He has to be one of the hardest working actors in Hollywood.

This is what happens when cash grabbing goes way to far. James Cameron would be proud.

Maybe if he does it for the fans and doesn't ask for too much money. Filming a few episodes would be pretty cool
