Mark Wahlberg Takes ‘2 Guns’

The actor will headline this action tale based on the Steven Grant graphic novel for Universal Pictures.

Mark Wahlberg has taken the lead in the action romp 2 Guns for Universal Pictures.

2 Guns is based on Steven Grant's graphic novel of the same name, and will get a script from TV scribe Blake Masters.

The story follows a DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence office that have been ordered to investigate each other. They soon find out that they have been double-crossed by the mob, whom they believed they were both stealing money from.

David O. Russell was at one time attached to write and direct this adaptation, with Vince Vaughn in one of the two lead roles. It is not clear at this time if either party is still involved with the project.

2 Guns was released August 2nd, 2013 and stars Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, Paula Patton, Bill Paxton, Fred Ward, James Marsden, Edward James Olmos, Robert John Burke. The film is directed by Baltasar Kormákur.
