Over the past seven days, director Kevin Smith has had a number of his Mallrats stars confirmed to return in Mallrats 2. The filmmaker revealed on his Twitter page that the next two additions are Jeremy London and Ethan Suplee, reprising their roles as T.S. Quint and William, respectively. They join the filmmaker himself, returning as Silent Bob, Jason Mewes (Jay), Jason Lee (Brody), Stan Lee (Himself), Michael Rooker (Mr. Svenning) and Shannen Doherty (Rene). At this rate, the filmmaker could have his entire cast lined up by next week.

The director mentioned that, after these latest casting additions, he now has "8 down, 4 to go." It is believed that Kevin Smith is referring to Mallrats stars Claire Forlani (Brandi Svenning), Joey Lauren Adams (Gwen), Ben Affleck (Shannon) and Renée Humphrey (Trish). Given how busy Ben Affleck's schedule is, it isn't known if he would come back for the sequel, but we'll have to wait and see.

Kevin Smith is directing from his own script, but no story details have been given at this point. Mallrats 2 is still a long ways off, though, since the director is shooting Clerks III this May, followed by Hit Somebody in September and Moose Jaws in February 2016. The director revealed earlier this month that he hopes to start shooting Mallrats 2 by May 2016.
