‘Machete Kills’ Will Introduce Charlie Sheen as Carlos Estevez

The actor uses his real name for the first time in this upcoming ‘Grandhouse’ spin-off sequel starring Danny Trejo as an ex-Federale with a score to settle.

It comes as no shock that Charlie Sheen's real name is Carlos Estevez. Its common knowledge that he took a screen name just like his father, Ramon Antonio Gerard Estevez (aka Martin Sheen) before him, while his brother Emilio Estevez kept the family name on the marquee. What might surprise you is that neither father nor son ever legally changed their name. And now, after years of controversial behavior, the real Carlos Estevez is finally stepping forward. That's right, starring in Machete Kills for director Robert Rodriguez, the once troublesome actor is reinventing himself at the core of his being. This is the first time in Carlos' long screen history that he won't be billed under his stage name. Check out the title card from this upcoming sequel, which stars Danny Trejo as an ex-Federale on a mission of vengence.

It's good that Martin took a screen name. Ramon Antonio Gerard Estevez sounds too badass for Martin's career of mostly serious dramatic roles.

@basquat That is not his fault. Blame that on Frank Miller and his slowness of making books to make the film.

F*ck Yeah! Represent! Then again, why the hell didn't just go by his birth name all these years? Kudos to Carlos Estevez!

@dan Not trying to be witty. trying to explain that all actors are linked to all their projects. I can't change Charlie Sheen's name, then everything he is in will have Carlos Estevez. Trying to explain to you why the name isn't changed in the credits. What's witty about that?

@paulington And yet, you failed to tag me correctly. Had I not checked back in on this article voluntarily, I would have missed your attempt at being witty.

@dan And yet, we can't change it, because then every movie he stars in, he is still Charlie Sheen! No one on our site is searching for Carlos Esteves...

This will just bring about more times Emilio will instantly draw comparisons to his own brother - 'The Mighty Ducks' will never be the same again.
