Warner Bros. has hired screenwriter Andrew Baldwin to rewrite the sci-fi remake Logan's Run. We reported in April that The Gangster Squad writer Will Beall was working on the script.

The story is set in a dystopian future where people are put to death at a certain age. In the William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson novel, the termination age was 21, but in the 1976 Logan's Run movie starring Michael York, the age was 30. The story centers on Logan, a "Sandman" who seeks out people trying to run from their death, although he ends up going on the run himself after his death becomes imminent.

Drive star Ryan Gosling is reuniting with director Nicolas Winding Refn for Logan's Run. Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are producing for Warner Bros. It isn't known when production may begin yet.
