'Lego Ninjago' Heading to the Big Screen

'Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu' creators Dan and Kevin Hageman will write the screenplay for this feature adaptation of the LEGO toy line.
Lego Ninjago moves forward at Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. is digging into the Lego universe once again by moving forward with a Lego Ninjago animated movie, as they ready The Lego Movie for release in February.

Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman, who received story credits on The Lego Movie, have been tapped to write the screenplay. The duo also created the Cartoon Network series Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, which, like this project, is based on Lego's Ninjago line of toys. The series is set in a world named Ninjago, inspired by Japanese and Chinese cultures and features fire-breathing dragons. The main character, Kai, is the "red ninja of fire." The film will present a new story that isn't connected with the TV series.

The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are producing alongside Dan Lin and Roy Lee. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are not directing Lego Ninjago, but the producers are close to attaching a filmmaker. It isn't' known when production will begin.
