Joan Allen Set for ‘A Good Marriage’

Peter Askin is directing this adaptation of Stephen King’s novella about a woman who learns her husband has led a double life.

Joan Allen has signed on to star in the Stephen King adaptation A Good Marriage for director Peter Askin (Trumbo).

Stephen King wrote the screenplay adaptation himself, based on his 2010 novella. The story centers on a woman named Darcy (Joan Allen), whose life is rocked when she discovers the disturbing double life her husband has been living for 25 years. She must then decide whether or not to keep maintaining the relationship with her shady spouse.

Peter Askin will also produce with his Reno Productions partner Will Battersby. The project will be funded through independent financing, with Paradigm handing the domestic rights and Atlas International representing the project for foreign sales.

Production is scheduled to begin next month in New York City.

A Good Marriage was released in 2014 and stars Kristen Connolly, Stephen Lang, Joan Allen, Anthony LaPaglia, Theo Stockman, Will Rogers, Kris Lundberg, Brady Bryson. The film is directed by Peter Askin.
