Jennifer Hudson has joined the cast of New Line's Sex and the City: The Movie. According to Variety, the film is being produced in association with HBO.

Hudson is set to play the assistant to Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker). The film will revolve around the series' four main characters living their lives four years after the HBO sitcom came to an end.

Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Chris Noth are all returning as well. Michael Patrick King, who served as the show's executive producer, is writing and directing this big screen adaptation.
