Shortly after the main cast was announced for Jem and the Holograms, all news went radio silent. That changes today with the first official photo from the film, which shows the band rocking out on stage. Though a little blurry, this first look sneak peek surely means a trailer for the October release is on its way soon.

The first official Jem and the Holograms image debuted in the pages of Elle Magazine. It shows us stars Aubrey Peeples as Jem, Stefanie Scott as Kimber and Hayley Kiyoko as Aja. Absent from the photo is Aurora Perrineau as drummer Shana. The story follows a young woman who transforms into a pop star with the help of her best friends and a pair of high-tech earrings.

Jon M. Chu, best known for Justin Bieber's Believe and G.I. Joe Retaliation, directed Jem and the Holograms, based on the animated series and toy line created by Christy Marx. At this time, no further plot details have been revealed. But as evidenced in this sneak peek, it looks like the girls are keeping it truly outrageous as they became stars of the stage. Take a look:
