The new Platinum Dunes horror remake A Nightmare on Elm Street is set for release on April 30 and, although the release date is still set, some additional shooting took place over the holidays. Sci Fi Wire caught up with the film's star Jackie Earle Haley, who was promoting his new TV series Human Target, and he spoke about the recent reshoots.

"We did do some re-shoots over the Christmas holidays, and I feel really good about that," Haley said. He added that the additional work was, "Just some re-shoots and tweaks that I think are probably customary for pretty much every movie that gets made,"

He also spoke about the process of creating Freddy Krueger's voice, which he is continuing to work on throughout post-production.

"We're still working on it," Haley said. "There's still more [additional dialogue recording] stuff to do, so it's an ongoing process, I think, until it comes out."

Cell...he's an actor...and this is a chance to portray one of the greatest horror icons ever. Do the math...it's like a director given the chance to adapt his favorite story or something. It's their job, and as far as jobs go, this is among the best roles you can get...being trusted to portray this character. So shut the f*ck up.

Well I wasn't too impressed with the 2009 Friday the 13th, and I don't think I will be with this, either. Especially since IMO, Kruger = Robert Englund.

I can't wait to see this...one of the few remakes that I think will be actually good & will benefit from not only today's special effects but, Oscar nominated actor Jackie Earle Haley who was fantastic as Watchmen's Rorshach!

Looking forward to it. If it sucks, it sucks, but it's really done nothing to not earn the benefit of the doubt, at least.
