‘Iron Man 3’ Set Photos Reveal a Daring Rescue Attempt

Tony Stark appears to be saving an amazing number of people at one time from an unknown threat on the North Carolina set.

Last week, we showed you an intriguing video from the set of Iron Man 3, where a number of seemingly-connected extras/stuntmen were seen flying through the air attached to a wiring harness. While there was no sign of Tony Stark in the video, it seemed like some sort of bizarre rescue attempt that no one but Iron Man could pull off. Today we have a slew of new photos from the North Carolina set, which confirms that Tony Stark is indeed carrying these people to safety... although we're not quite sure how. Click on the photos to access our massive, growing gallery.

Iron Man 3 was released May 3rd, 2013 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale. The film is directed by Shane Black.

It'll be interesting to see how this all happens on screen in the movie, when it is released to theaters next year.

@bawnian-dexeus Looks like you were right. Although, about the sphere seems a little corny if they have this giant "bubble" with people in it and Stark is rescuing them. Oh well, at least it's great to see Iron Man save people, something we haven't seen in awhile since the first film when he saved the jet pilot.

@mcleve02 Stark making a sphere to save those people. If no sphere, at least he's doing some heroic action
