‘Independence Day 2’ Confirms July 2015 Release Date

20th Century Fox sets new dates for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’, and ‘Assassin’s Creed’.

20th Century Fox has issued a fitting July 3, 2015 release to the Independence Day sequel, currently titled ID Forever - Part 1. No date has been given for ID Forever - Part 2, but it would seem likely that this will be released on the same weekend in either 2016 or 2017.

The studio has also set a July 31, 2015 date for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which may now be called Peregrine's Home for Peculiars.

In addition, 20th Century Fox has shuffled release dates for some of its biggest titles next year. X-Men: Days of Future Past is swapping release dates with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, with X-Men: Days of Future Past now set for a May 23, 2014 release, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes bumped later into the summer on July 18, 2014. X-Men: Days of Future Past will now square off against the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore comedy Blended, while Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will go up against Planes: Fire & Rescue.

Finally, Assassin's Creed starring Michael Fassbender has been slated with a June 19, 2015 release date, where it will go up against Inside Out.

Independence Day was released July 3rd, 1996 and stars Will Smith, Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, Mary McDonnell, Judd Hirsch, Robert Loggia, Randy Quaid, Margaret Colin. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich.

Independence Day 2 comes to theaters June 24th, 2016 and stars Jeff Goldblum, Jessie Usher, Liam Hemsworth, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Vivica A. Fox, Travis Tope. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich.
