@ejk1 I agree they should have went with the first photo as the poster... Even though the knife thing is pretty damn cool...

I think this is a good idea, I'm just on the fence on how it'll be executed.

@ejk1 Maybe cliche was a bit strong, but it would have been the obvious choice and the easy way out. It's just everywhere, books, posters, movies, everyone's seen that already... this is nicer to me because it has that original Hitc*ckian-movie poster feel.

@felipe-11 His profile shot isn't cliche. No one else has ever had one quite like that. It's his hallmark. The knife is a nice touch, it just isn't the classic pose. To each his own, I guess.

@ejk1 but the profile shot is also too cliche, it's been used to death. This still one still screams "Hitchc*ck", the knife/tie is great.

Makeup is a bit wonky around the eyes, but I'll wait to see it better...

My problem with the poster is that it isn't in side profile. Everyone knows that is the famous Hitchc*ck symbol.

"Bam" is good, yes, @the-movieghost? :P

And I thought everyone caught the classic "psycho knife" tie. Otherwise I would have pointed it out first. Damn it all to damnation and hellfire! :P

He is so getting the oscar for this. Lewis already have 2 of them and Hopkins only has 1 of them. Just give it to him now.

i thought the first picture of him would have made for a better poster. anyway, i'm stoked for this movie. hands down, one of my favorite directors and biggest influences.

  18. the Narrator

Prosthetic's are always difficult, especially when you look at such as huge jump from Hopkins to Hitchc*ck. At least Day-Lewis looks like his characters more or less. Honestly, I was expecting them to do a half-assed nose job and rely on Hopkins to simply do his best in the role of making us forget what Hitchc*ck looked like in the first place. It wouldn't be the first time a film has done that with a historical figure and gotten away with it. So that being said, I'm surprised they're going this far with it, and I'm pleased with what I see.

Hopkins looks amazing as Hitchc*ck and I have high expectations for this film, but this poster isn't very good.

@phatalphd Technically for all you know we could be... read all the comments not just the one about the make up... such as my first comment... We did look into the fact that Hopkins is behind there...

man this site is full of nitpickers. it may be a bad poster, but do you really think they'd make the movie with a sh*tty makeup job? get over it, and have a little faith. Hopkins is one of the best actors, even he wouldnt do it if it was a bad look. Some of ya'll talk like you're special effects supervisors yourself.
