Has Halle Berry Been Cut from ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’?

An onset source reveals that Storm has been trimmed down to one scene, leaving almost all of the actress performance on the editing room floor.

With more than 26 main characters all crowding each other within a two hour time frame, it seems quite logical and probable that some of them are going to get cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past. It already happened with Anna Paquin's Rogue, who was edited out of the finished cut. Now comes word that almost all of Halle Berry's scenes have been trimmed and swept into the dustbin.

Its not clear how much screen time she would have had, but its clear that the original Mutants are the first to go when it comes to X-Men: Days of Future Past, with director Bryan Singer focusing more on the X-Men: First Class cast in telling this story.

An onset source revealed the news to New York Daily, saying:

"Meanwhile, on the work front, a source who was on the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past, tells us Halle Berry, who plays Storm, was cut out of every scene but one in post-production."

Halle Berry learned of her pregnancy just as shooting started on X-Men: Days of Future Past, which saw her role being cut down considerably. The actress herself revealed that there would be limitations to her performance.

"Storm probably won't be as badass as she was going to be because we won't be able to do any fighting or flying or things like that."

The actress had gone onto tease that fans would learn something new and shocking about Storm X-Men: Days of Future Past., but now we'll have to wait for the Blu-ray to see these deleted scenes, to know what this secret is. Bryan Singer has promised that we will be seeing quite a lot of cut footage when the movie finishes its theatrical run and heads for home entertainment venues.

X-Men: Days of Future Past was released May 23rd, 2014 and stars Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.

I would leave her on the floor also.. she is a crap actress and she looks like a soccer mom in the film... They need to find a better actress to play Storm from now on... hell, I would rather have Kerry Washington play her, she is a better actress by far. All Halle has is her fading looks.

I hate to say it but it's probably a good thing that some parts are being cut to almost nothing. I'd rather a proper edit of the film with a well-paced story than a sh*t-show that has all the characters in it.

She got pregnant, people. That is why her role diminished considerably.

I sometimes wonder if FOX/Singer are just trying to piss off X-Men fans on purpose or it just like a natural instinct to them now?

@Dr-Devious...not just reboot...a Marvel Sutdios reboot would do this franchise justice, especially since Marvel would actually have them in their suits :]

This is a huge story with essentially two films coming together. Surely the studio can see the value in having it go over two hours for the sake of the story. Stop editing out our favorite characters!!! I am getting less and less interested in seeing it now.

I would like to see a X-Men film more than two hours long, would prefer a three hour film instead. So that way nothing is cut out.

@brian Oh okay, thank you for the clarification.

  27. Brian

@gumperman That was a copy/paste error. The article has been edited... They actually did mean Days of Future Past, not First Class.

    12 months agoby @brianFlag

  28. gumperman

So the source mentions First Class, not Days of Future Past. We already know Storm wasn't in First Class, so was this a mistake or something from before the first movie came out?
