Although fans will have to wait a bit longer for Season 3 of Hannibal to premiere, with NBC confirming last week that the show will return sometime this summer, the network has released the first trailer to get everyone ready for Hannibal Lecter's return. This footage gives us our first look at Tao Okamoto's Lady Murusaki, who joined the cast back in October in a "major guest-starring arc." It's worth noting that, in the original Thomas Harris novels, Lady Murusaki is Hannibal Lecter's aunt, but it seems unlikely that this aspect of the novel will be kept intact for the show, since Tao Okamoto is 29 and Mads Mikkelsen, who plays Hannibal Lecter, is 49.

Series creator Bryan Fuller has previously teased that Season 3 will incorporate elements of the original books, with new twists, including a new origin story for Hannibal himself. We also reported last week that Richard Armitage (The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies) is playing The Tooth Fairy in a six-episode arc, although it isn't clear how many more new characters will debut in Season 3.

The most intriguing part of this Season 3 trailer is where Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) actually catches up with Lecter in, according to EW, Florence, Italy. It isn't known if this awkward reunion will take place in the season premiere or not, but we also see Hannibal and his fugitive companion Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson). Check out the new footage, and stay tuned to find out when exactly Hannibal will return on NBC.
